International School for Young Astronomers (ISYAs)
ISYA in 2008, July 1-22, Istanbul - TURKEY
The 30th IAU International School for Young Astronomers (ISYA) will be held in İstanbul - TURKEY from 1 to 22 July 2008.
Among the topics to be covered are: Structure of neutron stars, CCD astrometry, structure and evolution of stars and binaries, stellar spectroscopy and data analysis with IRAF, extrasolar planets and life, research with small telescopes, photometry, science with the Hubble Space Telescope, and hands-on computer training on real / archive data.
The language of the School will be English.
Applications should include the achieved level of studies in physics and astronomy and any topic of special interest. Candidates are requested to use the application form on the website of the School (see below). Two letters of recommendation are required. Grants are available.
